I finally cleaned out my message box (by selecting "delete all"-- I think this is a beginning of a beautiful new friendship) and am now just about ready to be active on DA again. Whoo. I don't have anything bigger than 100x100 that's worthy of being uploaded yet, so you're just going to have to settle for words.


LIFE, the universe, and everything:

I am still a freshman. It happens. The year is drawing ever nearer to the end, but it will never reach it because it must keep on going half of the way, and then half again of that, and then half again of that... whatever, I need time to do my debate project anyway (100 cards! Blasphemy! Oh, who am I kidding? I need the practice). There's a semi coming up, if I can convince any of my friends to come, and I have a nagging feeling that past experiences have pretty much convinced them that school dances are a bad idea. *sigh* I can't dance, but then again, nobody can that I've seen.
I am still single. That also happens.


Okay, now on to the good stuff!:

You have to have been living under a rock to not have heard of HG/SS (or perhaps you simply have a life), but I actually have a funny story about that. I was talking with some friends today, and they were discussing a remake of some sort, and acting all embarrassed to talk about it. So I interceded, saying that it's only embarrassing if they act like it's embarrassing, and that it's perfectly okay-- awesome, even-- to like Pokemon. Of course, they were talking about some Weird Al song. I sort of walked right into that one.
I'm kind of indifferent in HG/SS; Team Rocket and Kamon need to go die, in a hole, right now, but unfortunately they don't seem inclined to do so so I'm just going to have to grin and bear it, and let the new features (GSGirl :3 and Pokemon following you... betcha it's not just your starter, it's any Pokemon, and it'll be like a regionwide Amity Square) make it worth my time instead. I just don't want a direct remake (with the really shitty plot), is all. Johto still had some sweet music and the legends are second only to D/P's.

Okay, so! I've been getting questions about spriting recently, and I will answer them as well as put a shameless plug up: Sprout Tower [link] is an awesome forum adminned by my good friend Seika that focuses on all aspects of Pokemon spriting; post sprites, receive crit. And the coolest part is that I'm there! I'll write up an essay telling you what you're doing wrong and how to improve. And believe me, you WILL improve.

Game project wise, Uranium's still going strong; the thread's quiet (read:dead), but we're working a lot behind the scenes. What've those other guys got that we don't, anyway? It kills me. It really does. We have better sprites, better engines, better storyline, we're not too glitchy and we have cool new features... and yet all anyone can do is be all "malachite malachite malachite" and pay the good projects no attention. *angst* so it goes. For those that contacted me about working for them, contact me again; don't leave me hangin' here! Also, just to clarify: I won't just sprite for you just because you want your dex filled. If that's the case, learn to sprite yourself (go to Sprout Tower); I sprite for game projects who have a programmer and various other components but need graphics.

So yeah, that's the gist of things right now. If you read through all that text, I offer you my congratulations and I'll give you a free sprite/art request if you mention it along with asking a good question.
